Business Description
The Algonquin Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry serves local residents who are the unemployed/underemployed, the working poor, the homeless, individuals with disabilities, the elderly and children.
The pantry is actively supported by the villages of Algonquin and Lake in the Hills as well as many area residents. Many wonderful volunteers from these villages and churches comprise the staff that oversees the operation of the pantry; which is open from 9:30 AM until noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month.
Clients may make selections from a “supermarket” style set-up which includes the use of shopping carts. A variety of packaged, canned, refrigerated and frozen foods are available. At this time approximately 300 families make use of the facility which was established to supplement short term emergency needs for food.
